Do
you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator
of the ends of the earth. He will not
grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and
increases the power of the weak. Even
youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those
who hope in the Lord will renew their
strength. They will soar on wings like
eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:28-31

Thank
you all so much for your continued support of Emily and Jason. Jake and Luke have been busy while I’ve been
slacking on the updates. Both boys are breathing
on their own without CPAP!! Luke has
been without a CPAP since September 5 and Jake lost his on September 9. They had their first eye exam to check for
ROP and everything looked good. They
will be rechecked in two weeks. As a side
note, I recently learned that Stevie Wonder is blind due to ROP – he was six
weeks premature.

Friday
night was a little bittersweet as they the boys were moved to the Level II
NICU. This means they were doing so well
it was time to transition to another area – but we all know change is
hard. The boys have settled into their
new digs and are enjoying cribs! The
next big hurdle will be to learn to eat.
They are not ready yet as the suck/swallow reflex doesn’t kick in until
about 34 weeks. They will be 5 weeks old
tomorrow (33 weeks). Jake still has the PDA, and will have an ECHO next week to locate where the hole is within his heart.
Stats:
Luke
is 4 pounds, 9 ounces. He is eating 41
ccs per feed through an NG tube
Jake
3 pounds, 15 ounces. He is eating 36 ccs
per feed through an NG tube.
